How we get paid

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

Most of our money comes from dispatch fees, a percentage of the gross on loads we book for you (see dispatch pricing). We also have three referral relationships. This page names them, says what we earn in general terms, and explains how the links work.

01Factoring referrals

We do not factor invoices ourselves. When you ask for a factoring quote, we pass your request to RTS, and we may be paid for that referral. The referral does not change the rate or terms you are offered; those come from the factoring company.

Our factoring guides explain factoring in general, including how to compare companies, so you can judge any offer on its own terms.

02Vertical Identity (DOT drug and alcohol testing consortium)

Some pages about DOT compliance link to Vertical Identity, a company that runs a drug and alcohol testing consortium. If you enroll through our link, we may earn a referral fee. Your price is the same either way.

These testing rules cover drivers who need a CDL. A box truck rated at 26,000 lb GVWR or less, run at or under that weight and not hauling placarded hazmat, does not need a CDL, and we say so wherever the offer appears.

03TruckClub (breakdown protection and extended warranty)

Some pages about repairs and warranties link to TruckClub, which sells breakdown protection and extended warranty plans for commercial trucks. It is not insurance. If you sign up through our link, we may earn a referral fee. Your price is the same either way. Plan terms, limits and eligibility come from TruckClub.

05What we do not do

We do not accept payment to recommend a dispatcher, broker or load board, and we do not publish paid reviews. Guides are written under our editorial policy.
