DOCK 01LOCAL / REGIONAL
Regional dispatch service built around when you want to be home
Some carriers want their own bed every night. Some are fine with two nights out if the weekend is free. Our regional dispatch service starts with your home base and the radius you will run, and plans every load so the week ends where you want it to.
Pick your radius, see your week
Choose how far from home you will run. You see the kinds of freight that usually fit and what home time looks like at that range.
REGIONAL, SHORT
Home most nights, some 1-night trips
EXAMPLE FREIGHT
- Regional LTL partials
- Distribution center to store runs
- Day-out, day-back truckloads
Enough range to find better loads without long stays away. Planning the return load matters most here.

DOCK 02HOME TIME
Home time math: local, regional or OTR
| LOCAL | REGIONAL | OVER THE ROAD | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical range | Up to about 150 miles from home | About 150 to 500 miles | Anywhere in the country |
| Home time | Usually every night | Some nights out, home most weekends | Out for a week or more at a time |
| Loads per week | Many short ones, often multi-stop | Several mid-length loads | Fewer long loads |
| What eats the day | Stops, traffic and dock time | Deadhead between loads | Hours of service and time away |
| Who it fits | Box trucks, dump trucks, final mile | Most equipment that wants a schedule | Carriers chasing miles |
Ranges are a working rule of thumb, not a legal definition. Your dispatcher works to the radius you set.
How we plan a week around home
1
Start from the weekend
We work backward from when you want to be home, so the last load of the week delivers close to it.
2
Anchor the long load
If the week has one longer, better-paying run, we book it first and plan the shorter loads around it.
3
Fill the return
Every outbound load gets a plan for coming back loaded, or at least close to home, before we book it.
4
Keep a backup
Local freight changes by the day. We look for a second option when a shipper cancels or a dock runs late.
5
Check the clock
Stops, traffic and dock time decide a local day more than miles. We plan the day so it fits your hours.
Tell us on the first call: your home base, how far you will go, which nights you need at home, and any days you never run. That is the frame every load has to fit.

What regional carriers ask
"Regional pays less than OTR."
Per load, it can. But short loads turned quickly, with little deadhead, can add up to a good week. And home time has a value only you can put on it. We plan around both.
"I want to be home every night."
Then we keep you inside a local radius and plan loads that end near home. That narrows the freight, so we tell you honestly when a week will be thin.
What regional dispatch costs
The fee follows your truck, not the radius: 7% for one box truck or hotshot, 5% for one truck of another kind with 6+ months of authority, 7% while your MC is under 6 months old, and 4% for 2 or more trucks (limited-time rate). No setup fee, month-to-month, cancel with 30 days notice.
DOCK 05FAQ
Local and regional questions
Q-01What is regional truck dispatch?
Dispatch that keeps your truck inside a set area around your home base, usually a few hundred miles, so you get home regularly. The dispatcher finds loads inside that area, plans the return trips and lines the week up to end near home. You set the radius and the home time.
Q-02Can a dispatcher keep me home every night?
If you run local, yes, as long as there is enough freight in your area for your truck. We look for loads that start and end close to home and tell you honestly when a day is thin. A wider radius gives more choices but means some nights out.
Q-03Do local box truck loads pay well?
It depends on the area, the freight and how many stops. Local loads often pay by the stop, the hour or a flat rate rather than by the mile. What matters is what the day pays against your costs. We check that before we send it to you.
Q-04How far is regional trucking?
There is no legal definition. In practice, regional usually means a few hundred miles from home, up to about 500, with some nights out and most weekends home. Local is usually within about 150 miles, with the driver home every night.
Q-05Do you dispatch in my state?
We work with US carriers. Tell us your home base and radius on the application, and we will tell you on the call how much freight we see for your truck in that area.
Tell us where home is. We plan the rest.
About 2 minutes to apply. Add your home base and radius.
