Best factoring companies for trucking: compared on what they actually publish

Every factoring company says it is fast, fair and has no hidden fees. This page compares five well-known trucking factors on what each one states on its own website, and marks what they leave out. Use the filters to find the ones that fit your situation, then get quotes.

RTS is our factoring partner and is listed first. We may be paid for referrals to RTS. That does not change what the table shows for any company.

DOCK 02METHOD

How we compared these trucking factoring companies

We picked five well-known trucking factoring companies, including our partner. For each, we read the company's own website and recorded what it states about advance rates, fees, recourse, contract terms, funding speed, fuel programs and new carriers. Data checked October 3, 2026.

You will find plenty of top 10 trucking factoring companies lists online. Some are paid placements or earn a fee per signup, which is why this list is short and shows its sources. We did not use review scores, rankings from other sites or anything a sales rep might say on a call. If a company does not publish something, the table says so. That is not a mark against it: most factors set rates after reviewing your business, so ask for those numbers in your quote.

DOCK 04BY SITUATION

Best factoring company for trucking, by situation

There is no single best factor. These picks are based only on what each company publishes.

You want the broker's non-payment risk off you
OTR Solutions is the only one of the five that states non-recourse factoring on the pages we checked. Read exactly what its non-recourse covers before you sign.
You are a new MC
Apex Capital publishes a startup program for new carriers. Ask the others directly; not publishing it does not mean they decline new authorities.
You do not want to be locked in
Apex Capital states no long-term contract and no minimum volume. Bobtail states month-to-month after the first 90 days.
You want a published rate ceiling
Bobtail is the only one of the five that publishes a maximum rate, 3.24%.
You want a fast advance with a large share up front
RTS, our partner, says it advances more than 90% of the invoice within 24 hours, with same-day invoice payment.

Best truck factoring companies for box trucks

None of the five publishes terms written for box trucks, and the same is true of most factors: they price by the invoice and the broker, not the truck. What changes with a box truck is the size of the invoices. Final-mile and partial loads often pay a few hundred dollars each, so per-invoice fees, wire fees and monthly minimums take a bigger bite than they do on a semi.

If you run a box truck, ask every factor for the full fee schedule, check whether there is a minimum invoice amount, and work out the total cost on a normal month of your own invoices. A rate a little higher with no per-invoice fees can cost less in the end.

DOCK 05QUESTIONS

Questions to ask before you pick a truck factoring company

  1. 1.What is my rate, flat or tiered, and on what invoice amount?
  2. 2.What is the advance rate, and when is the reserve released?
  3. 3.Recourse or non-recourse? If non-recourse, which non-payment reasons are covered?
  4. 4.Is there a contract term, a monthly minimum or an exit fee?
  5. 5.Can I choose which invoices to factor?
  6. 6.What other fees are on the schedule: wire, ACH, application, invoice, credit checks?
  7. 7.How fast does funding arrive after a complete upload, and is that in writing?
  8. 8.Do you factor loads from all my brokers, or only approved ones?

Running the loads, too?

Factoring speeds up payment; dispatch finds and negotiates the loads you factor. We can do the dispatch side, whichever factor you choose.

DOCK 06FAQ

Choosing a factor: questions

Q-01Which factoring company is best for trucking?

The one whose terms fit your business: your brokers, your volume, whether you want non-recourse, and whether you can live with a contract or minimum. Compare quotes from two or three factors on the same month of your invoices, including every fee. The table on this page shows what each publishes so you know what to ask.

Q-02What should I look for in a factoring company?

A clear rate and full fee schedule, the advance rate and when the reserve comes back, recourse terms in writing, no long contract or monthly minimum if you can get it, the right to choose invoices, fast funding stated in writing, and good broker credit checks so you avoid slow payers.

Q-03Are factoring reviews reliable?

Use trucking factoring companies reviews with care. Some review and ranking sites are paid or earn affiliate fees, and a factor's own testimonials are chosen by the factor. Read the contract and the fee schedule, ask other carriers you know, and judge each company on the terms it puts in writing for you.

Q-04Which factoring companies accept new MCs?

Many do, because factors judge mostly your brokers' credit, not yours. Of the five here, Apex Capital publishes a startup program for new carriers. The others did not state it on their sites, so ask them directly. Our page on factoring for new trucking companies covers what to expect.

Q-05Do factoring companies charge hidden fees?

Some charge fees beyond the main rate: wire or ACH fees, application fees, invoice processing fees, credit check fees, or charges for missing a monthly minimum. They are usually in the fee schedule, not the headline. Ask for the complete schedule in writing before you sign.
